IFPAS emphasises great importance on Education
and Training to equip members with the necessary skills,
knowledge and competence so as to be in a position to
serve their clients better. In recent years with the liberalisation
of the life insurance industry and the advent of financial
planning, insurance advisers have evolved to be financial
advisers. The enactment of the Financial Advisers Act
on 1 October 2002 is a step in this direction. It is of
utmost importance therefore that our insurance practitioners
are equipped and kept abreast of the changes to deal with
the challenges ahead.
