As part of IFPAS’s efforts to drive professional & moral standards of the industry practitioners, IFPAS has organised the IFPAS All-Star Awards. This event aspires to recognise deserving financial practitioners, who have excelled professionally and in various social causes.
Around 300 guests are expected to attend the event and a total of nine (9) awards will be given, which will come from the successful nomination by fellow financial practitioners, organisations and members of the public.

Nominated by a Financial Practitioner
This category refers to a financial practitioner nominating a fellow financial practitioner. Aside from excelling in his chosen career in the financial industry, this nominated financial practitioner has also contributed significantly to the betterment of the society by demonstrating active participation and involvement in various social engagement platform and making a difference in the lives of others.
Nominated by an Organisation
This category refers to a financial practitioner being nominated by any non-profit, non-government-organisations and any voluntary citizen group that is organised in Singapore. This organisation has to provide a variety of humanitarian services such as helping Singaporeans by directing their concerns to the relevant government agencies, being an advocate for a worthwhile social cause and being an avenue for active citizen debate and participation in social causes.
Nominated by Client / Members of the Public
This category refers to a financial practitioner being nominated by a person / client. This nominated financial practitioner has gone the extra mile in helping the person / client beyond his professional scope of service.
CORE REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESSFUL NOMINEES
(a) Must be an IFPAS member
(b) Minimum of 2 years tenure as Financial Practitioner and /or Agency Leader
(c) Has a minimum gross annual income of S$48,000* for past 12 months or in the year of 2016
(d) Maintain company persistency of at least 85% for past 12 months or in the year of 2016
(e) Free from disciplinary actions from his/her company and/or regulators; and do not have any pending investigations

The IFPAS All-Star Awards logo is derived from the two merging squares of IFPAS’ logo, further stacked and rowed into a heart, depicting the founding principles of this logo. The various squares symbolise the effort of many individuals who are doing extraordinary and commendable works, with the star within the square as a recognition of their efforts. The various tonal values of red is chosen for compassion for the society and the lasting passion to make it work.
The tagline “Do Well Do Good” describes financial practitioners who have excelled professionally and in various social causes.

Speaker of the Parliament
Tan Chuan-Jin is the 10th Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore. A member of the country's governing People's Action Party (PAP), he has served in the Cabinet since May 2014 as the Minister for Manpower (May 2014 – May 2015) and the Minister for Social and Family Development (May 2015 - Sept 2017). He has been a Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Marine Parade Group Representation Constituency since May 2011. Before entering politics, he served in the Singapore Army, rising to the rank of Brigadier-General.

Dr William Tan personifies both passion and compassion. He contracted polio at the age of two and is paralysed from the waist down. Notwithstanding his disability, he has shown outstanding strength in overcoming adversities.
From a kindergarten drop-out, he topped Selegie Primary School and went to Singapore’s Premier School, Raffles Institution on a Ministry of Education Scholarship for his Secondary and Junior College education. The National University of Singapore Alumnus who majored in Life Sciences joined the Civil Service after graduation in 1980. In pursuit of his dream to become a scientist and physician, he ventured abroad for postgraduate studies in 1989. Holder of a First Class Honours in Physiology, this Harvard University’s Fulbright Scholar and Oxford University’s Chevening Scholar has also trained at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in USA.

MR. EDMUND WEE

Mr Edmund Wee is a Senior Financial Consultant in the financial industry since 1987. Mr Edmund Wee is ever passionate and earnest in helping his clients find the best possible solutions to their financial needs. Mr Wee’s impressive industry track record similarly reflects his positive attitude to his line of work for the past 30 years.
Besides being an MDRT member from 2000 to 2003, he also served as President of the Insurance Financial Practitioners Association of Singapore (IFPAS) for two terms, from 2002 to 2003 and the second time from 2006 to 2007. During his term as elected IFPAS President, Mr Edmund Wee managed to boost its membership by a significant 10 percent. Mr Wee continues to serve IFPAS, currently taking on an Advisory Role from 2016 to 2018. Mr Edmund Wee had also been appointed by IFPAS as the Ambassador for the IFPAS-MediShield Life (MSL) Project for 2015-2016.
He has served in Asia Pacific Financial Services Association (APFinSA) in various key positions from 2011-2015. He continues to serve APFinSA today as its Immediate Past Chairman for the term 2015-2019.
Apart from the financial industry, Mr Edmund Wee is also very active in the community in Singapore. He is widely involved in grassroot activities and currently serves as the Asst. Hon. Treasurer of CCMC in Toa Payoh West-Balestier CC. Mr Edmund Wee is also the Vice Chairman of its Sports Club under Toa Payoh-West Balestier CC for 2017.

Serial Entrepreneur and Former Member of Parliament
Inderjit is a rare combination of experiences, managing a multi-national company, a serial entrepreneur, angel investor and a Policy Maker. An engineer by training and having worked at Texas Instruments for 13 years, he embarked on his entrepreneurship journey at the age of 37 by starting United Test and Assembly and Test, a large semiconductor company.
Inderjit has extensive experience in the field of entrepreneurship – through practicing it starting a few companies around the world, investing in start-up, helping create a good ecosystem through policy changes, and in educating the next generation of entrepreneurs. He is currently a co-President of the World Entrepreneurship Forum., Board member of the World Business Angel Forum (WBAF) He is a Board Member of the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and chairs the Board of NTUitive, the innovation company of NTU.
