Derrick Yip embarked on a transformative career trajectory in 2012, departing from his initial role as a Commercial Banking Relationship Manager at a local bank to venture into the realm of Financial Planning with Manulife. Over the ensuing years, he meticulously cultivated robust relationships with clients, earning their trust through unwavering professionalism.

Derrick is a staunch advocate for elevating the standards of knowledge within the financial services sector. Recognizing the pivotal role that well-equipped financial practitioners play in guiding clients through various life stages and milestones, he has proactively pursued advanced qualifications. These include the prestigious Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), Associate Estate Planning Practitioner (AEPP®), Singapore Accredited Mortgage Planner (SAMP™) and the esteemed IFPAS Certified HNW Adviser designation. Armed with this extensive knowledge, Derrick is committed to providing clients with informed and effective financial advice.

Beyond his dedication to professional education, Derrick holds a profound belief in the responsibility of financial services practitioners to safeguard the dignity of every client throughout their professional engagements. To this end, he endeavors to raise awareness among the public regarding the true nature of the work carried out by financial practitioners.

Derrick’s involvement with the Insurance and Financial Practitioners Association of Singapore (IFPAS) began as a member in the Membership Working Committee. Through this journey, he gained deeper insights into the association’s pivotal role in preserving and enhancing the reputation of financial services practitioners over the years. Now serving on the Executive Committee (EXCO), Derrick is poised to contribute significantly to IFPAS, looking forward to creating additional value for its members.
